Though just doing normal Internet searches I've seen plenty of instances of clear piracy on in terms of copying books, and there a lots of videos on YouTube that are technically copyright infringement (though it seems to me that with Content ID technology the copyright owner can get compensation nonetheless). On the other hand it seems strange for it to be illegal yet the listings are so prominent. I didn't get the sense that these deals are really supported by Microsoft, and that it's possible the software will end up getting deactivated. Plenty of other people wondered about it also. I did some searches and read various postings on different forums. This seemed a little bit weird to me, and so I looked into it a bit more.
